Welcome To the Ient Family Website

Welcome! To all those in the Ient/Jent family and to friends who are interested in the Ient/Jent family history.

This site provides information about the Ient (also spelt 'Jent') family history from the mid-18th century to the present day. It is also a way of helping members of the family to come together, exchange information and contact each other.

In addition, I hope you will not only add to this site by sending more information, pictures and documents, but also let me know If you spot any inaccuracies.

Click here to send information which will be added as development of the site continues.

To get you started, one thing you may be interested in is the origin of the name ‘Ient’ - please see my notes on the 'Ients' or 'Jents'.

If you would like to participate in the Ient Family Blog, please click here to go to the blog site. This website blog has been set up to provide a home for those interested in the Ient Family History. You can add your comments directly to the website. Have a go! We look forward to hearing from you.

This website is the result of a number of years' work and contributions from many family members including Diana, Dennis, Ian, Pat and Tony. I also had the specialist help of Uwe Porten (German Genealogist) and my Researcher, Marion Bance, without whose detailed and painstaking work this new website would not have been possible.

I would also like to thank my partner, Carol, for her work in typing up, checking and correcting the many documents.

My thanks to all...

Finally, I hope you enjoy your visit to the site!

Vic Ient
